Agarikon (Fomitopsis officinalis) Spagyric Tincture
Agarikon is a very bitter and acrid mushroom has also been called the quinine conk, thought to contain the potent compound quinine. While it likely does not contain quinine, there is a longstanding traditional use of this fungus in various different applications.
Dioscorides in the 1st Century AD recommended this mushroom for treatment of consumption, and has traditionally been used for everything from supporting immune health, to cellular integrity, to protection against foreign pathogens.
This mushroom produces a thick resinous extract. Thick precipitate is to be expected in this tincture.
